Going to Jail?

Ok so I have a lead foot. I like to go fast. I spend a lot of time driving for work and then I get to come home and do the mom taxi. I have a very clean record except for twice in the last 4 weeks I've been caught. The second time was completely not my fault. I was intentionally only going 5 over. The problem, the nice Wyoming cop informed me is that it's a 65mph zone not 75 mph. In addition to that he didn't even have sympathy for me when I told him I was 5 1/2 months pregnant and really really needed a potty! As he is writing the ticket and checking his handy dandy computer, I'm PRAYING the computer doesn't show I have a ticket currently sitting in my purse that I kind of forgot to mail in the payment for..... My prayers were answered and he didn't haul me to jail and I made it to New Beginnings in Thayne on time. (barely) This was last Sunday. I paid both tickets Monday. Today Indy was opening the mail to find the Wyoming ticket returned because they don't take out of state checks. Master happened to be standing close by asked Indy what he was opening.

Indy " A ticket, mom has been speeding again. If she's not careful she's going to go to jail.

Sounding much too excited for my liking Master yells: "PIE GUESS WHAT........MOM IS GOING TO JAIL!!!!" Pie was playing with two neighbor girls who I'm sure, promptly went home to tell their families that Sister Bingham was going to jail. SUPER!

He may have Downs but...

He's got THE MOVES!
As mentioned earlier Sport LOVES his beads. I've noticed even some older downs kids love to have something to flip around. Sunday at church, I decided to not let Sport take his beads to Primary. Well Sport found a better set. According to his teacher, she asked where his beads were, and he checked his pockets to find none there. He then noticed she was wearing some that were similar to his beads. He promptly went over, sat right next to her and pointed to her beads. He gave her that Sport winning smile. (NOTE her beads are $200 beads not Dollar store mardis gras beads) She told him, No. He then proceeded to snuggle even closer to her side and start rubbing her thigh. (SERIOUSLY!) He shot her another secret smile. Apparently after several minutes of this routine, realizing he wasn't going to give up, she let him play with her beads. What can I say the kid is resourceful and he's got moves for the ladies.

Conversation from the back of the Van

Paces DairyAnn cooked dinner tonight because my house is clean and my husband is out of town.
Sport has a new found love of ice-cream cones. We had to get Master to scouts so I let the kids take their ice-cream in the car. I'm driving along and this is what I hear from the back of the van, Master is hollering:

"SPOOOORT I am NOT your NAPKIN"
followed by an evil laugh from Sport
"AWE not all over the seat!"
followed by another evil laugh from Sport

The best news is I just had my Van detailed last week. My bad.

NOT an option 1 and 2

My lesson next Sunday is on agency. Choices and the consequences of those choices has been on my mind. About 2 years ago I was having a faith melt down. Sport's bum looked like raw hamburger meat, he was in pain, and I had tried everything I could think of. I told Indy half joking but half not joking that God wasn't answering my prayers so I wasn't going to church anymore. Indy flipped just a little bit. In a very head of the house way he said, "It's ok to struggle and it's ok to go through a hard time but as for this family that you are a part of we go to church." So obviously quitting church was NOT an option. #1

#2 This pregnancy has been harder than my others. The sick thing is always tough, but usually by this point I am better. I still am nauseous first thing in the morning, if I wait to long to eat, and last thing at night. Nausea I now can handle, but this SI joint, muscle nerve pain is wearing on me. Dealing with and managing the pain all day is not fun. I will have good days and then horrible days for no apparent reason. I'd had enough this morning. I decided I was depressed, and chose to stay in bed and feel sorry for myself. I could hear Indy working out, wishing I could work out and not be in pain. I could hear Indy running Master through his soccer drills, and Sport through his therapy drills, and Pie laughing at both of them. Then I felt like a Schmuck! I should be out there helping, participating, up fixing breakfast....something!!!! Finally Indy came in and asked if I was going to stay in bed until noon. I promptly pulled the covers over my head and said YES I AM! Then the thought raced across my brain. 'This is not an option. I needed to focus on what I could do.' I could manage cereal for the kids. I could call the PT and see if by any luck she was working on this Presidents Day...and thus I got out of bed.

Happy 4th Birthday Princess Pie

Her BFF

Posted by PicasaBig Huge thanks to Dani for helping me pull this party together.
Pie we love love love love love you.
You are the one and only and will forever be the princess in our family.

The things they pick up...

Posted by PicasaWednesday morning as Sport is getting ready for school I hear him say to Dani
"Bye Sucker"
Did I hear that right?
Then as he passes Indy and myself going out the front door he says,
"See ya later Suckers!"
except from Sport it came out
"sthee ya later sthuckers!"
WHERE did THAT come from?
My sweet innocent child.
(No he wasn't wearing the Krispy Kreme hat, but it was the only going to school picture I had)

A close shave...

Posted by PicasaI cleared the memory card from my camera today and found these photos from Christmas.
I don't think these dads are going to allow Uncle Mark to be in charge of games again.

Pain in the butt..

Literally a pain in the butt is making me miserable. Turns out I have a loose pelvis. This sounds exciting but it is NOT fun! The hormones from pregnancy are causing all of the ligaments in my pelvis to relax to the point I have an unstable pelvis. My SI joints move out of place and it causes excruciating pain to walk, sit, stand, roll-over etc. etc. I have seen the chiropractor, the physical therapist, the OB and today finally asked for a blessing...which said I will be able to endure it well. I don't want to endure I want it to go away. The good news is that the OB scale said today I haven't gained a pound in 4 weeks. Be grateful for small things I guess.

There is a lottery for the Spudman triathlon in Burley Idaho and we are in! Spudman here we come. This is the group name for our triathlon relay team. I chose the swim portion because at 7 weeks post-partum I'm not sticking my bottom on a bike or running a 10K. I will however be swimming 1.5K in the Snake river ..time to hit the pool!

"just LET GO!"

This was Pie's third try out on the ski hill. Last week I put her in a lesson and then I took her out myself. After a terrible run with me down LittleCat and her telling me, "You're not doing it like teacher!" She finally said, "Just let go mom!" and she was off and skiing on her own. I was amazed how much better she did when I let her do it on her own. Hmmm lesson for life maybe?

There are not many things about Down Syndrome that are cheap. Snowbasin just started an adaptive ski program and its actually affordable. OH HAPPY DAY! Bless this guys heart for working with Sport because I would give up; Ed has a serious amount of patience. Sport complains the ENTIRE time but when he is done he says, "I DID IT!" and has a gigantic grin on his face. His next words are, "All done, fries mom" Which means it's time to hit the lodge
