Baptism Day for Sport

Expectations are a tricky thing with Sport.  You never know if things are going to go as expected or go really South.  He told the Bishop "no Ghost".  We went in with the expectation he could sit down and refuse to participate at any point.  Nope, he did great, he was thrilled to participate in the whole thing, Ghost and all.

BUSTED

I walked over to my neighbors house Monday afternoon to pick up Pie.  We talked for a moment and then the nice neighbor said, " I have something to tell you and I hope you don't get offended"
I said, " What did my kids do"
She said, "Oh it wasn't your kids it was you." and she has this funny smile on her face.
Turns out Sunday morning her two daughters were ready early for church and had wandered outside. I happen to have two huge windows on both sides of my front door.
Sunday morning I was doing dishes, Bubba was down for his morning nap and the other kids were downstairs. Indy decided I needed a good "horn swaggling" (as we call it at our house).  He chased me around the kitchen and then we wrestled to the living room floor.  He then jumped on top of me and we of course proceeded to make-out.  We thought we were 'safe' because all of OUR kids were busy downstairs. Turns out their were two little girls peering in my front windows.  They told their mom that, "The neighbors were chasing around the furniture and then rolling around on the floor and then they kissed for the LONGEST time and it was sSOOOOOO disgusting!!!
I just looked at my neighbor and said, "Yep we're busted, they've pretty much got the story straight."

Like Mother like Daughter

It all started with Porch Time.  Working for my Grand-Aunt during Jr.High and High School we would work our little fingers to the bone and then chill with a coke on the porch.  I thought diet coke was disgusting but then she introduced me to a fresh lime or a lemon in the diet coke and I was hooked.  I'm a one can a day girl and some days no cans, but most days call for a little mental chill time, which calls for a diet coke.  Princess Pie has picked up on this 'love' for diet coke and this was the conversation at the dinner table last night.

PP "I just love diet coke.  I love it so much I think I'm going to marry it"
Master "If you marry diet coke you will have diet coke mutant babies"

Leave it to the 10yr old to bring us back to reality.

Who is Bob?

Sunday evening I asked Princess pie if we could find some clothes for Ken she informed me:
"Mom that is not Ken."
"Then who is it?"
"Bob"
"Who"
"Bob"

Who the hell is Bob?

What do you take to church?

Sport came upstairs dressed for church. He was wearing his green mardi gras beads, carrying his football scripture case, and had a naked Ken doll tucked under his arm. Football case and beads I can handle, I draw the line with naked Ken.

Hairy Valentines and Sharp Razor Blades

I could post a picture but it wouldn't be pretty so this will have to do.
This post is a little long, the good part is at the bottom.
Valentines Day was a little crazy.  But I'm learning to be Zen about my version of crazy so here goes:
Valentines Eve we (kids and I) did aprox 80 Valentines.  Apparently I can't count because we ran out of candy and 2 short on the number of valentines needed.
All notes from the school say VERY LOUDLY do not send unless you send for the entire class.
It's Sunday -  OX in the Mire  - so we sent Indy to the store for additional Valentines and candy.
Made Valentine Boxes - Started with my idea being 'lame and girly' and ended up with an acceptable Star Wars Bag with Yoda saying, "Valentines, give me you will."
Put kids in bed
Set table for Valentines breakfast and set out kids Valentines
Made two types of sugar doe for cookies - heaven forbid I decide on one recipe.
( always go with real butter)
Found software on internet to create and print HEART bingo for school class party
(I think I'm in love with GOOGLE)
crashed for a few hours of sleep
Valentines Day -
Completely missed my kids opening their Valentines because I was busy putting together games for the class party (note to self: be better prepared next year)
Bubba Nap - Took Princess to her friends house
Chocolate fountain and games for Masters 4th grade class.
The kids thought this was WAY COOL and for 30 seconds I was a rock-star,
BUT I haven't done a chocolate fountain in a long time and I forgot how much work it is.
This class is in a portable with no sink and no water.  As I was carrying the chocolate fountain still full of chocolate to my car the wind started to blow...
yeah I was a little covered with chocolate by the time I made it to the car.
Changed clothes
Made dinner for friend that is going through Chemo
(This involved take and bake pizza, bread, and salad BUT the cookies were entirely homemade)
Gathered Bubba, Princess, and stickers and headed to Sport's school party.
Ran to Bountiful for OT with Sport's FAVORITE girl RoXann.
Met Master at home and sent him to Soccer
I took this particular day to work from home due to the number of class parties etc. but I was still looking at my BB every 5 minutes to return emails, txt and phone calls.
Took Sport to Karate where he tested for his yellow belt
(happy day! I actually remembered the testing form and the check-book)
While Sport finished at Karate, Princess and I ran an errand
This is where the story gets interesting,
Indy had already given me a gift the night before and I had nothing for him.
I think I have warped my daughter for life...
What good Mormon mom drags her baby and and 5yr old daughter to Victoria Secret on Valentines?
Me
She had several ideas of what I should by.  She finally picked out something with a pink bow and sparkle red hearts on it.  I would probably classify it as kinky she said it was "cute".  I said, "awesome lets buy it, wrap it, and GO!"
Story gets slightly better.
After dinner we (Indy and I ) had a soccer game -we lost
Home-work done, kids in bed, quote emailed to Dr.Black..
Time for some lovin!!!
I grabbed a new razor and rushed for the shower
I donned my VS "cute" purchase and jumped into bed
A few minutes later Indy says "Where is all this blood coming from?"
I looked down at my leg and apparently my razor was a little too new and a little too sharp.  I had nicked my leg (in a couple places) and my legs and the sheets looked  like a little war zone.  woops! mood killer...
Moral of the story:   DO not use a new razor on Valentines and maybe shop VS by myself!!

Places you do and do not go...

Posted by PicasaWhere I can go...
Ever since Sport turned 8 he has been pushing my patience to the limit. He was being so cute tonight helping to put away the silverware I had to hurry and take his picture.  Just after putting the silverware away he sat down at the kitchen table to work on homework.  I know that sounds mundane and everyday but he is still working so hard to master writing his name. I am so proud of him.
Where I can't go..
I made bread this evening and I ran some over to the neighbors.  They have a darling boy the same age as Sport and he is also getting baptised this Saturday. And for the briefest of moments I thought what would Sport be doing if he didn't have that extra chromosome?  What projects would he be working on?  Would being baptised mean something more to him?
Where I am...
When Sport was just a baby I had another Downy mom tell me our road with him would be a great adventure just a different adventure than others.
Oh how I love him just the way he is.
I would not trade those stubby little hands, thick little tongue, or squinty eyes for anything in the world.
People always say "they only come to special parents"
We don't think that is true,
 Sport is the special one,
we're just lucky he chose us.

My Indian Boy

Posted by PicasaFor the 4th grade program Master was chosen to play the drums....thus he needed to dress the part.
I must be getting old and sappy because as I watched I was proud of not only my kid but all the kids and my eyeballs got a little misty.

Hair mom for hire

I have never claimed to be a 'hair mom' Princess Pie is lucky to get it brushed with an occasional flower or bow.  If we get daring we do pig tails and pray the part is straight.  After getting this email today I might need to hire a hair mom. (The name of Pie's dance team is Tiny Company)

Dear Tinys;

Attached is your competition hair style.  You will be doing a poof bang and the rest is curly.

To do the bangs, you would section out a one- two inch wide and deep section of her bangs.  Then you hold the whole section up and rat the back side of the section.  Rat is fairly heavy so that it stands up.  Then, pull it all back and smooth the front over the ratted area .  Bobby pin it from both sides so that it will not come out. Hair spray heavily so that it stays all day.

To do the curls, take each section and spray with hair spray.  Then, curl each section.  Make sure you spray the whole head when you are finished with a strong hold spray so that it lasts all day.
The curls I can handle.  It's the poof bang that is going to be interesting.

Romance

My cute friend got me thinking about this subject. I can't remember the last time I pulled out the little black dress to go on a date with my husband. I think the dress is dusty and not entirely sure it fits. We do manage to sneak in a movie or dinner and a movie every once in a while. Tonight while heading back from the school activity Master asked us if we were going on a date, this is how it went down:
Master: are you guys going on a date?
Indy: Yes we're going to go to the movies, sit on the back row and smooch.
Master: I (pause) am going to freaking Barff!!! That is disgusting!

Lol!!! 10yr old boys are awesome.

I'm back and caught up with the posts! I feel like the bulimic blogger.  I haven't posted since December 5th and I think I did 20 last night.  Maybe at some point I will right my New Years resolutions.. I think February works well for that.

Did Santa bring you one?
