FLASHBACK!
Oiy!!! Has it really been 16 years? I think I'm breaking the silent blogging rule of only posting decent pictures of yourself because those are some darn ugly bangs on me!!! Saturday night I attended the Viewmont High Dance Concert. Our awesome director is retiring and then did several alumni pieces. I watched those girls and I simply couldn't believe that was me 16 years ago. The thought ran through my head; Is the future where I thought it would be when I was 18 and dreaming of life after graduation? Am I living the dream? The answer is yes. There have been some bumps along the way, but I am on track and basically where I thought I would be. The days are not perfect and I am not filthy rich but I am rich in blessings of all kinds.

The Race, the half naked boy and the X-Men
I had a very humbling experience last night. Enter: The pinewood derby for scouts! Brian sanded the car gave me instructions for painting and lubing the axles, putting on weights etc. ....and leaves town. Tuesday afternoon Master melts after school because he thinks the car is old fashioned looking and wants to race it backwards...ok fine. I get home from work and am furiously drilling holes in the bottom of the thing because according to my scale we are over weight. We get to the church; I look over and Sport is half naked because he has a thing with taking off his shirt lately. (Can't deal with it at the moment, so in vain I tell him to put his shirt back on. He replies with a loud NO and laughs at me) I go to the official weigh-in to discover we are under weight. Some good brother loans me some weights and I hot glue them on. The weights I had put on the bottom had to come off and go on the top as well, all of which ticks off Master because he thinks they look stupid. Another brother (remember this is a church/scout thing) is spinning the wheels of our little car telling me to add more graphite. I do... and off to the races. DEAD FREAKING LAST in all four heats. I wanted to cry. I have failed the pinewood derby category of motherhood. Master was bummed but a good sport about it. Next year the Daddy needs to be in town or I need to google search: How to make a car that will WIN the RACE! I will note some of the Dads (good brothers) attending, were mighty intense! I thought we were all there for a good time. Personally I think those men lost when they were 8 and have come back for justice! Sport put his shirt back on (backwards) but at least on.
Tonight I had to prep a costume for Master to do a monologue at school tomorrow. He is Iceman from the X-men and needs to go in costume (who says Halloween only happens once a year!) I may stink at Derby cars but my X-men belt courtesy of the glue gun and Velcro turned out pretty good!
My extra brain
So I've decided blogging is like having extra brain power...you throw the question out to the universe and voila you have an answer THANK YOU! I love it. And yes I hit down East and bought Princess Pie some undershirts....and she REFUSES to WEAR them! the stink!

No prompting necessary
All of us prompt our children to do things:
"Say please"
"Quit smacking your lips"
"Stand up straight"
"Look at mom"
Sport, because of that extra 21st chomosome usually requires extra prompting. We walked into the ESA and the Jazz girls saw him and all I had to say was, "Can I take your picture and he was in position and smiling.
The stinking Jazz lost by one point to the worst team in their division. At half time they were ahead by ten points. As Sport would say C-mon D-Will! Personally I think it's the NBA going green shirts...as seen in the picture below. What is green about producing all new shirts for them to wear over their warm-ups????

Let's get this party started....
I think this is for sure a sign of age.... (or maturity?) I am way excited for General Conference. I can't wait to see what they're going to say. If I were a GA I would stand up to the podium say, "I told you so" and sit down.......
Really, they will probably say something close to what they usually say. That is the beautiful thing. The truth is consistent. The question is; am I listening?
