Grateful 11 To be included....

He loves football more than any kid I know, including those that are able to play the game.  He attended every practice, but doesn't have a team, he is not on anyone's roster.  Every night at practice I had to be very careful to not look to the right where his actual age group would be practicing.  The 'what if' is hard, it hurts and I know that train of thought goes no where but a place called misery.  At the first of the season I was fighting to watch Noah and Zoe and keep Sport off the sidelines.  By the end of the season I had given up.  He knew where he wanted to be and was NOT going to move.  Lucky for me I had the entire team and their parents watching him as well, so if he was about to get trampled, someone would help him out of the way.  It was not uncommon to see him tell the other players 'good job' or 'come on guys' and give them a pat on the shoulders or the helmet if he could reach.  At the second to last game the team had huddled at the far end of the field getting ready to start the game.  He walked around the outside of the huddle shaking his sticky hand telling them 'you can do it guys' and one of the coaches grabbed him and said 'come on Rems get in the middle'.  He LOVED every second of it.  He was included.  He belonged.  I am grateful.
