The arrival

The story: I was told to call the hospital at 10:00am; an hour before my scheduled induction. They called me at 9:50 and said they had one bed and nurse left, if someone showed up in labor before me I was out of luck... We tossed the bags in the car and headed to the hospital. I walked in and even though I was pre-registered I stopped at the check-in desk, out of the corner of my eye I see a pregnant lady heading for the elevator. OH NO! I told the check-in clerk I had to go and I made a beeline for the Elevator. We rode the same elevator, she got off on the same floor..crap, crap crap. Luckily she turned left where I turned right. PHEW!

This next part is what I call the Princess Cruise. We watched movies and had good drugs to deal with the pain. For as much as I DON'T like being Pregnant. I really like delivery. It's easy and within a few hours you get this awesome prize!!

I got situated, they started the pitosin, gave me my epidural, Dr. Macy showed up at 3:00 to break my water and said she would be back at 6:00 to deliver him. At 5:30 I was ready to push, but Dr. Macy said I needed to chill for 30 more minutes. Seriously?! Anesthesia came in and dosed me again so we waited. She showed up at 6:05 and baby was out by 6:30.

Months and months ago Indy and I decided that I would have my tubes tied after this baby. Everyone said it was this easy procedure to do right after delivery. I read the pamphlet, asked my questions and thought I was prepared. NOT....Just last weekend I learned from my SIL the delivery Nurse that the procedure takes place in the OR and I would be quite sore. WHAT?

They used my epidural for anesthesia so I was awake for the whole thing. Apparently I have long lovey fallopian tubes, (super). All was well and good until the epidural wore off. HOLY HANNA my bottom hurts and my belly feels like someone took a blade to it. Which I guess is obvious but I just wasn't ready for it. More drugs and more movies I shall recover.

Four for Four
This is the team. My OB was leaving town and I told her we needed a perfect four for four score so she couldn't leave town without delivering this baby. She has delivered over 7,000 babies. That's what you call being in good hands.

Not that you don't deserve to - but you look glammed up in those photos. Lipstick and diamonds? I wish I looked so good after delivery!
