Places you do and do not go...

Posted by PicasaWhere I can go...
Ever since Sport turned 8 he has been pushing my patience to the limit. He was being so cute tonight helping to put away the silverware I had to hurry and take his picture.  Just after putting the silverware away he sat down at the kitchen table to work on homework.  I know that sounds mundane and everyday but he is still working so hard to master writing his name. I am so proud of him.
Where I can't go..
I made bread this evening and I ran some over to the neighbors.  They have a darling boy the same age as Sport and he is also getting baptised this Saturday. And for the briefest of moments I thought what would Sport be doing if he didn't have that extra chromosome?  What projects would he be working on?  Would being baptised mean something more to him?
Where I am...
When Sport was just a baby I had another Downy mom tell me our road with him would be a great adventure just a different adventure than others.
Oh how I love him just the way he is.
I would not trade those stubby little hands, thick little tongue, or squinty eyes for anything in the world.
People always say "they only come to special parents"
We don't think that is true,
 Sport is the special one,
we're just lucky he chose us.

My Indian Boy

Posted by PicasaFor the 4th grade program Master was chosen to play the drums....thus he needed to dress the part.
I must be getting old and sappy because as I watched I was proud of not only my kid but all the kids and my eyeballs got a little misty.

Hair mom for hire

I have never claimed to be a 'hair mom' Princess Pie is lucky to get it brushed with an occasional flower or bow.  If we get daring we do pig tails and pray the part is straight.  After getting this email today I might need to hire a hair mom. (The name of Pie's dance team is Tiny Company)

Dear Tinys;

Attached is your competition hair style.  You will be doing a poof bang and the rest is curly.

To do the bangs, you would section out a one- two inch wide and deep section of her bangs.  Then you hold the whole section up and rat the back side of the section.  Rat is fairly heavy so that it stands up.  Then, pull it all back and smooth the front over the ratted area .  Bobby pin it from both sides so that it will not come out. Hair spray heavily so that it stays all day.

To do the curls, take each section and spray with hair spray.  Then, curl each section.  Make sure you spray the whole head when you are finished with a strong hold spray so that it lasts all day.
The curls I can handle.  It's the poof bang that is going to be interesting.

Romance

My cute friend got me thinking about this subject. I can't remember the last time I pulled out the little black dress to go on a date with my husband. I think the dress is dusty and not entirely sure it fits. We do manage to sneak in a movie or dinner and a movie every once in a while. Tonight while heading back from the school activity Master asked us if we were going on a date, this is how it went down:
Master: are you guys going on a date?
Indy: Yes we're going to go to the movies, sit on the back row and smooch.
Master: I (pause) am going to freaking Barff!!! That is disgusting!

Lol!!! 10yr old boys are awesome.

Finally!

I'm back and caught up with the posts! I feel like the bulimic blogger.  I haven't posted since December 5th and I think I did 20 last night.  Maybe at some point I will right my New Years resolutions.. I think February works well for that.

Did Santa bring you one?

Posted by PicasaPillow Pets...I think almost every house in America has one or maybe more..Why didn't I think of that idea?
