The arrival

The story: I was told to call the hospital at 10:00am; an hour before my scheduled induction. They called me at 9:50 and said they had one bed and nurse left, if someone showed up in labor before me I was out of luck... We tossed the bags in the car and headed to the hospital. I walked in and even though I was pre-registered I stopped at the check-in desk, out of the corner of my eye I see a pregnant lady heading for the elevator. OH NO! I told the check-in clerk I had to go and I made a beeline for the Elevator. We rode the same elevator, she got off on the same floor..crap, crap crap. Luckily she turned left where I turned right. PHEW!

This next part is what I call the Princess Cruise. We watched movies and had good drugs to deal with the pain. For as much as I DON'T like being Pregnant. I really like delivery. It's easy and within a few hours you get this awesome prize!!

I got situated, they started the pitosin, gave me my epidural, Dr. Macy showed up at 3:00 to break my water and said she would be back at 6:00 to deliver him. At 5:30 I was ready to push, but Dr. Macy said I needed to chill for 30 more minutes. Seriously?! Anesthesia came in and dosed me again so we waited. She showed up at 6:05 and baby was out by 6:30.

Months and months ago Indy and I decided that I would have my tubes tied after this baby. Everyone said it was this easy procedure to do right after delivery. I read the pamphlet, asked my questions and thought I was prepared. NOT....Just last weekend I learned from my SIL the delivery Nurse that the procedure takes place in the OR and I would be quite sore. WHAT?

They used my epidural for anesthesia so I was awake for the whole thing. Apparently I have long lovey fallopian tubes, (super). All was well and good until the epidural wore off. HOLY HANNA my bottom hurts and my belly feels like someone took a blade to it. Which I guess is obvious but I just wasn't ready for it. More drugs and more movies I shall recover.

Four for Four
This is the team. My OB was leaving town and I told her we needed a perfect four for four score so she couldn't leave town without delivering this baby. She has delivered over 7,000 babies. That's what you call being in good hands.

Go Time

Tomorrow is Noah's big day. It kinda feels like Christmas Eve!

Little Miss Grumpy Pants

To be honest I don't know if this describes me or Princess Pie today, but probably both. I reserve the right to stay home from Church the Sunday before I deliver. I just am not in the mood. Call that mood hormones, sleep deprivation or all of the above. Nights are the WORST! I lay down and have burning reflux. I finally get the reflux to go away and I get charlie horses in my legs, which then I have to leap (ok really there is no leaping) but get up as fast as I can to put pressure on the muscle. I lay down again and to roll any direction in bed feels like someone is kicking me in the stomach and groin. WAwawawa. I know. I woke up especially grumpy today. I thought missing church would mean a nice relaxing Sunday. WRONG! Turns out church as a 3 hour distraction is a good thing. Bless those primary teachers for taking my kids! After a short blessed nap Pie and I sat down to play Hello Kitty bingo. She was being a stinker about it even though she was winning. After abandoning the game she wanted to come with me to pick up some baby gear from a friend. The whole way there all she did was complain about being hungry and wanting to get a donut. The whole way home she argued with me about why we couldn't go swimming today. Finally I told her we were done talking. I turned on some church music and she says,
"Mom that music is not going to help me get happy."
"Pie that music is to calm my nerves so I don't HULK out on you"
Silence
Tonight as I was putting her in bed, of her own free will and choice she said,
"Mom I'm sorry I argued with you in the car today"
"Me to Princess"
Love that girl!

Forever After

LOVED IT!!!! We had a family first. Everyone sat through the entire show without complaining, crying, or puking. We might have to go again tomorrow night.

Memorial Weekend

Posted by PicasaMuch to my Mother's chagrin we don't make it to the graves over Memorial Day. It has become a traditional work weekend at the cabin. This is the only photo I have of anyone working....but I promise we all did some work. Some playing as well :) Big huge thanks to the Shermans, Chaudoins, and Mark n' Jana.
Good People Good Times!
