The order of 'things'

Over the last 10 days all 3 of my kids have tested positive for Strep. They of course decided to share with their mother. In addition I also somehow picked up a nasty cold and even more nasty cough. Lucky for me my OB took pity on me and prescribed an antibiotic. The drug is on the 'lighter' side and is taking a good amount of time to work. Today was my first day back to a full day of work. I had a long lunch meeting where I was doing my best to hold in my cough and not hack all over the people. **The problem with coughing when you're 9 months pregnant and you have a deep nasty cough is that based on experience ( the past couple of days) I start coughing, can't stop and either end up puking or peeing my pants.

I left the meeting...
needing to REALLY cough. A drink would help BUT
I really needed to go pee.
I felt nauseated so I needed to EAT something.
BUT if I ate something it might make me cough.
If I ate before I coughed, I might then puke what I just ate
OR
If I coughed, I might go pee before I actually got to a potty.
WHICH TO DO FIRST?

I found the closest cleanest looking Chevron and headed for the Potty!
Seriously I am ready to be DONE with being sick and DONE with being preggers!

I swear...

I swear to never say anything to a pregnant woman again other than:
"you look great"
period.
end of post
well almost....
I thought I would take a moment to record the funny things people have said to me during this pregnancy.

This past March I was on the gondola at Snowbasin with Master. At this point I am a good 7.5 months pregnant. I've got my snow parka on. This lady on the Gondola asks Master how many brothers and sisters he has. Master refuses to answer her, so I answer for him. "He has a younger brother and sister and will have another baby brother here in about 2 months." The lady says, "Oh I didn't think you were pregnant, I just thought you were fat."

About the same time these comments came from some of my offices:
"Oh my gosh you're huge"
"Your belly came through the door before you did"
"Are you pregnant?" no just leftovers from Christmas...

Today I'm at the gas station getting a drink, lady next to me says:
"How far along are you?"
"I've got just under three weeks left"
"I thought so because you look like you're just going to POP"

Getting Back to Jerusalem

Morning scriptures with the kids is not always an A+ event but sometimes worth recording.
We were reading about Lehi telling Nephi to go back to Jerusalem to get the plates.

Me: Master, if Dad asked you to go back to Jerusalem to get something, and Pie and Sport didn't want to go.  What would you do?
Master: I would promise Pie I would buy her a Barbie when we got there and I would tell Sport we would buy him some mardi gras beads.

Smart kid.

Way to Go little Bro!

Ok so maybe he's not so little. Being his big sister I guess means I just get to be older. Mark just graduated with his Bachelor degree from UVSU. Mark has been BUSY the past two years. He married the beautiful Jana, that we love, they had their first baby (Carson that we also love) and now he has graduated, ALL while working full-time for Novell. You're Amazing..So proud of you baby bro!

All together now...

The 'kids table'... My kids LOVE cousin time and they certainly got it over the past few days. When it comes to extended family Indy and I have two extremes. Indy's family gets together occasionally and my family gets together frequently. Starting last Wednesday night my sister arrived from Oregon and every second was packed. From Dinners, to Graduation to Birthdays, Swimming, Lagoon and Mother's Day we have gone non-stop.
Happy Birthday Aunt "Net"

This picture does not do this gift justice. All of the moms received these from my mom. It's a pair of flip flops with nail polish and $ for a pedi. SO fun!

Simply Amazing

I have this sister that is quite simply amazing. She did her Masters program several years ago but because life sometimes gets in the way, she never wrote her thesis to complete the program. Long story short she enrolled this past semester and finished what she started. In the midst of changing jobs, raising children and chickens (500 of them, separate story) she wrote her thesis and flew in this week to defend it. Her advisor told her the paper was severely flawed and to expect to write several changes and in fact she may need to pay for another semester of school. WRONG! She gave her oral presentation on the paper and they LOVED her and told her to run to collect her cap and gown she could walk in the graduation ceremony the next day. Congratualtions Min we're so proud of you.

Happy Birthday Grandma

Posted by PicasaCombining Mothers Day and Birthday we gathered with Indy's extened family tonight.

Happy Birthday Lila!

Just a thought..

I stole this from the 'Daily Scoop Blog' I often wonder if what I blog about is what I will want to read about 20 years from now when I look back.

I told them that they need to record their feelings when they feel the Spirit and feel answers to their prayers or feel strong in their faith. There will come a day when they do not feel so sure. It comes for each of us. We all come to a place in life where we doubt our faith. But if we have recorded our feelings when our faith as burned bright and been confirmed by the Spirit, we can look to our own records as a testimony to bolster us through those troubled times and lead us to remember the truth we knew and come to know it again.
The Spirit was there today. I feel certain most if not all of us in the room felt it. I challenged them to - if they felt the Spirit today - go home and write about it. I can only hope and pray some of them did. Certainly, I have written this to follow my own advice.
I challenge any who read to do likewise. Go write something down today that records some part of your life that will one day be a treasure - a lesson you have learned, how you feel about your parents or siblings or children, a list of your favorite things, goals you have for your life, a story from your childhood. The possibilities are countless. Pick one and Do it. You will one day be glad you did.
